Stray Dogs And Insomnia

Last night I got home from seeing Royal Crown Revue and was met at the gate by a dog that is not ours. She was a friendly thing, wanting to shake hands and have her belly patted. After doing this for a few minutes, I had to retreat due to exhaustion plus my high heels were killing me so I told her to go home. I went inside, told the housemate about the dog and she said that she'd been out there for a few hours. Realising she probably got scared during the storm and did a runner, we decided to hold her overnight and call the council to try and find the owner in the morning.

This doggy rewarded this lovely gesture by keeping me awake most of the night wanting to play and pacing back and forth to the water dish (loud drinker). By daylight, I figured she may need to get out and do her business,so I opened the front door and out she trotted. I went out to get her and she was gone. Oops.

Sarah went out the front to look for her and the lolly pop lady who stands out the front of our house (we live across from a primary school) said that a lady jogger came back and called the dog by name and she happily ran after her. At least we reunited them. Job done, I necked a couple of coffees and dragged my old bones into the office. I am craving a long kip and a bowl of soup.

Oh and looking forward to a dog free night... woof...

MoVember -Milonguita Style

Bob growing for the cause and me with my faux mo at Brother Baba Budan

MM chanelling Salvador Dali

The real Sal Dal

My first faux mo-The Casanova.

The Mexican Bandito Mo. "Hey Meester, can I buy your seester"?

In the name of men's health and good fun, I got into the spirit of MoVember.. I managed to raise $250 from fake moustache sales and gold coin donations for casual dress day.
Variety is the spice of life -as the old adage says- so I had a couple of 'tash changes throughout the day. I even went down to my favorite coffee shop with my friend,Bob (with a real tasharooni) and got some froth on my mo. One guy walked in to get his coffee fix, looked at me,smiled and said "Niiice!"

If a gal like me can get attention with a hairy upper lip, maybe there's hope for me after all.

Cementerio de la Recoleta and Furry Friends

Spent the afternoon at this amazing place. Here's me at the front of Eva Peron's tomb at Recoleta Cemetary. Surprisingly modest compared to other people's crypts. This place is like a suburb and the some of the tombs are bigger than peoples houses! I guess there's still money in this town despite the crash of 2002 and the devalued peso. I've been having trouble uploading my pics to my blog for some reason. I'll hopefully get some up soon using another computer. Began the day at Comme il Fait, which are the Manolo Blahnik's of tango shoes. Quite the experience going there but a good one. You climb a flight of stairs, ring a door bell, they let you in,sit you down and bring boxes of shoes out to you. The first pair they brought out were the one's I bought- black classic style with red polka dots and red heel cap. I just love them. They're the most expensive shoes I've bought in a long time but I figure, hey, when will I get out here again and how long can I wear these kinds of shoes for? I'd never get that kind of experience in Melbourne. I love this city and I'm so glad I'm here.

Seperation Anxiety

It's been nearly a week since Louie has moved in with Nikki while I go away. I am missing my big fat moo head terribly. Even though I've been able to sleep in without the usual swat in the face at dawn's crack, it's lonely without him. I keep texting Nikki to ask how he is. I am informed that he has been sweet, boofy and gets up when she does! Little bugger! He's cheeky but he's MY cheeky boy. I miss you, Lou Lou. Mama will be home soon.

My Fat Furry Boy

I want to introduce you to Louie. Louie is my cat who I adopted nearly 2 months ago. He was completely freaked out when he arrived at our warehouse and when he was let out of his cat box, he escaped and hid: Eventually he warmed to us (or just got hungry)and he's now part of the Down St family. He's the size of a small dog and would eat 24/7 if you let him. He thinks it's perfectly normal to wake me up at 4.30am for his breakfast, even if it means biting or scratching to arouse me from my sleep. We love him- how could you not?
