Physical Graffiti

A few bits of graffiti around the Collingwood area that I found interesting. I always find it bemusing how people choose to express themselves when armed with spray cans.
The whimsically pretty
The social conscience message The complimentary And the boastful
(BTW,what's your phone number?)

Have to admit it looks better than graffiti tags. Street art can be awesome when done properly. I used to always like the Mickey Mouse Cartoon on the wall of a shop in Brunswick Street.

Yes stencilling is pretty amazing as well. They have a lot of it in Buenos Aires and planning on taking as many pics of it as possible.
Tagging should be banned unless it's done well. Enough of picking a stupid name and bombing it all over the place.

There is some great stenciling along Brunswick St as well. Street Ar tthat makes you think "What the?" is good. Tagging is shit.

And I wish a slow, horrible painful death to that fucktard who dribbled paint over the little diver stencil.

Only 15 days to go and I'll be on my way!!
In the meantime (not the Helmet one), I have to pack up all my stuff and whack it into storage.
I think of going o/s as my reward for that daunting task!

dam buster said...

wow not long at all!
two weeks... phew.
Got much stuff to pack away?
You will get there and collapse from exhaustion.

I do have a lot of stuff but thankfully I had a huge cull of stuff when I moved from Richmond.
I think I'll go through and cull more stuff to take to the op shop and I'll bin the rest.
I have a week between moving and Buenos Aires so I'll have time to rest. I won't be collapsing at all when I'm there!

Oh a week of rest before the holiday. How nice. Hit the ground running.

'Ken oath love. I have 2 4 days weeks coming up - have both Fridays off. First one for moving, the second for last minute running around before I leave.
Noice one.

Ooh not these days! Takes me too long to recover although I can still put it away when I do!
I'll save imbibing for B's A's although I hear public drunkenness is very frowned upon... this is a nation that also believes in the free pour. A bit contradictory me thinks....

dam buster said...

indeed a strange mix. I guess it is how publicly drun kyou are?

Well you never know how the drink is gonna hit you. Sometimes I feel rat arsed after a glass of wine and I need to lie down... old lady times have hit. Poor Mags...

dam buster said...

Oh dear poor Mags indeed. Maybe you need to latch onto some young studly south american to help you out??

Ooh no no no not that...
Happy to plunge solo for my BA stay.
Anyway, Margarita wants a man, not a boy.
Fark all that 'toy boy' crap.
If you play with babies, you end up changing nappies.
'Nuff said.

dam buster said...

Righto.. what do you define as a toy boy anyway?

Lola Lopez said...

Lots of other definitions of other things too. You be the judge.

OK so half the age plus 7 appears to be the 'scientific' formula.

I think I would be safe on that count.. Not that I am suggesting anything!

And really who wants to deal with any gen Y crap?

Lola Lopez said...

Not me... Ill mannered creatures with bad music tastes. Ughhhh.
And who wants to be with someone who pays more attention to their mobile phone than you?

I'm still waiting for Lloyd Cole to marry me. I've been waiting since 1984 when 'Rattlesnakes' came out. It's only been 25 years but I'm a patient girl....

dam buster said...

Ha.. well ok. I am sure his resolve is weakening.

I just make do by seeing him when he tours Australia.
Next visit, he will be mine,oh yes, he will be mine.
